Job summary

EMC Meditech Sdn. Bhd. in Cheras, Selangor, invites a motivated Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our Project Engineering team. This full-time role supports cost management, procurement, and project delivery under supervision.

You will develop your expertise in quantity surveying while collaborating with experienced professionals to ensure projects meet budgets and schedules. A diploma or degree in related fields is preferred, with enthusiasm to learn and grow.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related built environment discipline
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with Excel and related software
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities with strong attention to detail
• Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Willingness to learn and develop expertise in project cost management and engineering practices
• Basic understanding of construction or engineering project delivery processes
• Professional certification or membership with BOMQA or AIQS is advantageous
• Experience with quantity surveying software or BIM tools is preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and analyzing project cost estimates and budgets
• Support collection and organization of project documentation, specs, and tender information
• Help prepare tender documents and bills of quantities for supplier and contractor procurement
• Assist in evaluating supplier and contractor quotations and tender submissions
• Monitor and track project expenditure against approved budgets
• Support cost control activities and prepare cost reports for stakeholders
• Liaise with project teams, contractors, and suppliers for pricing and specs
• Assist in contract administration and variations management under supervision
• Support the maintenance of project cost databases and records
• Contribute to continuous improvement in quantity surveying processes and procedures
