Job summary

myNEWS HOLDINGS BERHAD is seeking a junior graphic designer to support our creative team in Malaysia. You will adapt campaign visuals for offline and online touchpoints, assist senior designers, and ensure brand guidelines are followed across posters, POSMs, social content and digital screens.

The role involves preparing final artwork files, organizing assets, and contributing to product launches and seasonal promotions with close guidance from the team.

Qualifications

• Diploma in graphic design or interactive communication design; 1 year in advertising or FMCG preferred.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Support the creative team in developing and adapting design materials for campaigns, launches and brand communications.
• Assist Designers and Senior Graphic Designer in preparing artwork for offline and online touchpoints.
• Adapt key visuals into multiple formats and sizes for POSMs, posters, shelves and digital assets.
• Prepare design adaptations for NPD campaigns, product launches and seasonal promotions.
• Ensure artwork follows brand guidelines, colour usage and layout style as directed.
• Prepare social media materials, TV display artwork and resize visuals per outlet requirements.
• Assist with simple layout design, product image placement and price treatment under guidance.
• Make revisions based on feedback from senior staff and marketing.
• Ensure accuracy of product names, prices, promos, dates and logos in artwork.
• Organize design files, assets and templates for easy access.
• Learn retail design trends and final artwork preparation; perform other design duties as needed.

Job description

Support the creative team in developing and adapting design materials for CU Malaysia’s marketing campaigns, product launches, promotions and brand communications.

Assist Designers and the Assistant Manager cum Senior Graphic Designer in preparing artwork for various offline and online touchpoints.

Adapt campaign key visuals into different formats and sizes, including POSMs, posters, shelf talkers, wobblers, bunting, standees, menu boards, TV displays, social media posts, stories and digital assets.

Support CU’s NPD campaigns by preparing design adaptations for product launches, food promotions, seasonal campaigns and tactical offers.

Ensure all adapted artwork follows the approved key visual, brand guidelines, colour usage, typography, layout style and overall campaign direction.

Prepare social media posting materials based on approved campaign designs, including static posts, story formats, reel covers and simple digital layouts.

Prepare TV display artwork and resize visuals according to required screen dimensions and outlet requirements.

Assist with simple layout design, product image placement, price treatment, promo mechanics and text updates under the guidance of senior team members.

Make artwork revisions based on feedback from the Designers, Assistant Manager cum Senior Graphic Designer, Creative Director or Marketing team.

Ensure all product names, prices, promo mechanics, dates, logos and mandatory information are accurately reflected in the artwork.

Prepare final artwork files for print and digital use, ensuring correct dimensions, resolution, colour mode and file formats.

Help organise and maintain design files, working folders, final artwork, product images, templates and campaign assets.

Support the team in creating basic mock-ups for POSM, packaging labels, in-store displays and digital screens when required.

Assist in simple photo editing, image retouching, background clean-up and product cut-outs for campaign and POSM materials.

Work closely with Designers to ensure all design adaptations are completed accurately and within the required timeline.

Coordinate with the Marketing team when clarification is needed on product details, pricing, promo mechanics or campaign information.

Support urgent outlet requests and day-to-day design tasks when required.

Keep updated with CU’s visual style, campaign direction and design standards to ensure consistency across all materials.

Be open to learning retail design, POSM effectiveness, food presentation, social media design trends and final artwork preparation.

Perform any other design-related duties assigned by the Assistant Manager cum Senior Graphic Designer or Creative Director.

Requirements:

At least Diploma in graphic design / interactive communication design with 1 year experience in advertising agency or FMCG industry. Fresh grads are welcomed to apply.

Fluent in both oral and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.

A keen eye for design and creative concepts and ideas.

Skills in Microsoft Powerpoint, Macromedia Flash, Adobe Photoshop, adobe Illustrator, Adobe Indesign, AI tools.

Well conversant and written communication in Mandarin is an added advantage
