Job summary

NCS Solutions in Penang is seeking a Component Engineer with 1.5–2 years of hands-on experience. You will select electrical and electromechanical components, document selections, and coordinate with other engineering teams.

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required, and you must be able to work independently after onboarding and handle shift duties. The role emphasizes sustainable design principles, proper component specification, and product development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 1.5–2 years of demonstrated working experience in Component Engineering role.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision after onboarding.
• Strong understanding of sustainable design principles and environmentally responsible component selection.
• Good knowledge of electrical and electromechanical components, including specifications and performance characteristics.
• Working knowledge of electrical and electromechanical engineering principles for component selection and product development.
• Comfortable working in shift mode and overtime if required.

Responsibilities

• Documents selection of components/subassemblies to deliver required performance and compliance specifications.
• Interacts with other engineering disciplines to define component requirements and/or modify component selections.
• Works under discretion of Sr Component Engineers to analyze designs to recommend optimal selection of components and/or subassemblies.
• Read design plans, tolerances, and specifications for products and machinery.
• Exercises judgment in recommending suppliers, methods and techniques for obtaining solutions to manager.
