Job summary

Giant Hypermarket in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a friendly barista to join our café team. You will prepare and serve coffee and other beverages, handle transactions, and maintain a clean, welcoming area.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a barista or in food and beverage service preferred
• Basic knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and equipment is an advantage
• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including coffee, espresso-based drinks, teas, and other specialty items, in accordance with company recipes and standards
• Provide friendly, efficient, and professional customer service, ensuring a positive guest experience
• Operate coffee machines, grinders, and other café equipment safely and effectively
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including counters, seating, and equipment
• Handle cash and process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock replenishment of café supplies and ingredients
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations
• Assist with food preparation (e.g., pastries, sandwiches) where applicable
• Promote café products and upsell menu items when appropriate
• Work collaboratively with supermarket staff to ensure smooth daily operations
