Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an accounting assistant to support daily bookkeeping and financial tasks in Malaysia. You will prepare invoices, vouchers, receipts, and maintain records of payables and receivables, while ensuring accuracy in bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring.

The role requires a Diploma/Degree in Accounting or Finance, 1–2 years of relevant experience, familiarity with accounting software and Excel, and a solid grasp of basic accounting principles.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent qualification.
• 1–2 years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
• Familiar with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Knowledge of Malaysian accounting, SST, and tax requirements is an advantage.
• Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to meet deadlines.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work on Saturday.

Responsibilities

• Handle daily accounting and bookkeeping activities.
• Prepare invoices, payment vouchers, receipts, and other accounting documents.
• Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Perform bank reconciliation and monitor company cash flow.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Follow up on outstanding payments and overdue accounts.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Assist with SST, tax, audit, and other statutory matters when required.
• Liaise with auditors, tax agents, banks, suppliers, and customers when required.
• Ensure accounting records are properly maintained and comply with company policies.
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties assigned by management.
