Job summary

Social Multiway Sdn Bhd is seeking a Java Backend Developer specialising in Spring Boot, Microservices and Gamification to join our Kuala Lumpur team. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 2+ years of professional experience in Java backend development.
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot framework and microservices architecture.
• Experience with RESTful API design and development.
• Proficiency in relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle.
• Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
• Understanding of software design patterns and SOLID principles.
• Experience with gamification concepts and user engagement strategies (preferred).
• Knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes (preferred).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (preferred).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.

You will work on scalable microservices architecture, contribute to gamification features that enhance user engagement, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Key responsibilities

Design and develop scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot framework

Build and maintain microservices architecture to ensure system modularity, scalability and resilience

Develop gamification features and mechanics that enhance user engagement and retention

Write clean, maintainable and well-documented code adhering to established coding standards

What we're looking for
