SMITH & NEPHEW HEALTHCARE SDN. BHD. invites a motivated IT & Quality Engineering intern to join our team for a 24-week program supporting digital transformation and quality engineering in the medical device sector.
You will help automate IT processes, develop dashboards, assist in testing, documentation, and participate in continuous improvement projects, gaining hands‑on experience and mentorship from our engineers.
As part of Smith+ Nephew's Internship Program, you will join the IT & Quality Engineering team to contribute to meaningful projects that support business objectives. This opportunity provides hands‑on experience in both digital transformation and quality engineering within the medical device industry, with exposure to real‑world projects, collaboration with experienced professionals, and opportunities to build a strong foundation for future career growth.
Key responsibilities
Support IT process automation initiatives using tools such as Power Automate and Power BI
Assist in developing dashboards, reports, and data visualization solutions to support business decision‑making
Participate in digital transformation and continuous improvement projects
Support system testing, documentation, user training, and process standardisation activities
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and recommend innovative solutions
Support engineering and quality improvement projects under the guidance of experienced engineers
Assist in conducting engineering studies, inspections, and statistical analyses
Update and maintain procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation
Support calibration, verification, and measurement system activities
Prepare reports, project updates, and presentations for management review
About you
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, Quality Engineering, Physics or related disciplines
Available for a minimum internship duration of 24 weeks and above
CGPA of 3.5 and above is preferred
Basic knowledge of Power BI, Power Automate, data analytics, or programming tools is an advantage
Exposure to quality systems, statistical analysis, engineering principles, CAD software, measurement equipment, or calibration activities is an added advantage
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work
