As an IT/OT specialist at RoviSys, you will be responsible for implementing, configuring, testing, and supporting cybersecurity, networking, infrastructure, and industrial technology solutions within our client environments. This role requires a strong foundation in network security, enterprise infrastructure, virtualization, containerization, and industrial control systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges in integrated industrial environments. You will collaborate with customers and cross-functional engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle, from design through commissioning and support. The ideal candidate is an adaptable engineer with expertise spanning cybersecurity, enterprise infrastructure, networking, and industrial control systems.
Description of work:
- Implement, configure, test, and commission cybersecurity solutions including firewalls, endpoint protection platforms, security monitoring tools, remote access solutions, identity and access management technologies, and related security infrastructure.
- Support cybersecurity projects through system installation, configuration, integration, validation, documentation, testing, and deployment activities.
- Assist with vulnerability assessments, remediation activities, security hardening, patch management, and continuous security improvement initiatives.
- Monitor security events, alerts, and incidents; perform investigation, troubleshooting, escalation, and support response activities as required.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for cybersecurity systems, networks, servers, virtualization platforms, and supporting infrastructure.
- Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure network architectures, including network segmentation, defense-in-depth strategies, industrial DMZs, and secure remote access solutions.
- Support cybersecurity initiatives within both Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) environments, including industrial control systems, manufacturing systems, and critical infrastructure environments.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, system cutovers, handover activities, and post-deployment support.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, configuration records, test reports, technical specifications, operational procedures, and cybersecurity deliverables.
- Collaborate with customers, vendors, project managers, automation engineers, network engineers, system engineers, and cybersecurity consultants to deliver secure and reliable solutions.
- Support cybersecurity assessments, audits, compliance initiatives, and continuous improvement programs aligned with industry standards and customer requirements.
Required Knowledge:
- Strong hands-on experience implementing, configuring, and troubleshooting network security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, remote access technologies, and network segmentation architectures.
- Proven experience deploying, administering, and troubleshooting virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper‑V, Nutanix AHV, or equivalent technologies.
- Working knowledge of containerized environments and orchestration platforms, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of enterprise and industrial networking, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, network segmentation, and network troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Industrial Control Systems (ICS), SCADA systems, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and Operational Technology (OT) environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and system integration issues.
- Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure and systems administration, including Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Windows Server, and Linux environments.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, PROFINET, PROFIBUS, OPC UA, BACnet, MQTT, and DNP3.
- Familiarity with vulnerability management, security hardening, patch management, and incident response activities.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and frameworks such as IEC 62443, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, or equivalent.
- Ability to interpret network architectures, system designs, technical drawings, and engineering documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers, vendors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, network engineering, industrial IT, or OT environments.
- Experience implementing, configuring, and supporting cybersecurity technologies within enterprise and/or industrial environments.
- Experience with server, network, virtualization, and cybersecurity technologies in production environments.
- Experience supporting cybersecurity projects through installation, testing, commissioning, deployment, and operational support activities.
- Experience working in manufacturing, life sciences, pharmaceutical, energy, utilities, transportation, critical infrastructure, or industrial automation environments is preferred.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as required for assessments, testing, commissioning, and support activities.
- Relevant professional certifications are considered an advantage.
