Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is seeking an IT/OT Security Project Manager to lead end-to-end planning and delivery of identity demarcation projects between IT and OT environments. The role focuses on defining clear identity boundaries, RBAC, MFA enforcement, and secure remote access within industrial settings.

The project manager will oversee vendor PoCs, cross-functional alignment, governance, and change management while ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, and budget on a contractual basis.

Qualifications

• Evidence-based experience in IT/OT identity demarcation and access control across IT/OT environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Electrical/Automation Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with ISA/IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82, and NIS2 compliance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead overall planning, execution, monitoring, and closing of IT/OT identity demarcation and access control projects.
• Drive delivery of IT/OT identity segregation strategies including IAM, PAM, directory isolation, MFA and RBAC at the IT/OT boundary.
• Direct vendor evaluations, RFPs, and PoCs for identity, network, endpoint, and application demarcation technologies in industrial environments.
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks related to OT identity convergence and isolation.
• Ensure architecture designs and deployments adhere to OT security standards and internal guidelines.
• Bridge between enterprise IT, OT/plant engineering, site managers, cybersecurity leadership, and vendors.
• Lead organizational change for new identity governance workflows with minimal plant disruption.
• Maintain project documentation including charters, risk registers, SOPs and dashboards.

The IT/OT Security Project Manager will lead the end-to-end planning, architectural alignment, and delivery of IT/OT identity demarcation projects. This role focuses specifically on defining, implementing, and managing clear identity boundaries and access control architectures between Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) environments. Operating on a contractual basis, the Project Manager will oversee solution delivery, manage vendor Proof of Concepts (PoCs), ensure cross-functional alignment between engineering and IT teams, and drive projects to successful deployment within scope, schedule, and budget.

• Project Leadership & Delivery: Lead the overall planning, execution, monitoring, and closing of IT/OT identity demarcation and access control projects. Maintain accountability for project timelines, budgets, scope, and quality deliverables.

• Identity Demarcation Architecture & Execution: Drive the delivery of IT/OT identity segregation strategies, including Identity and Access Management (IAM), Privileged Access Management (PAM), directory services isolation, multi-factor authentication (MFA) enforcement at the IT/OT boundary, and role-based access control (RBAC) across Purdue Model levels.

• Vendor & PoC Management: Direct vendor evaluations, RFP processes, and end-to-end execution of Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for identity, network, endpoint, and application demarcation technologies in industrial environments.

• Risk Management & Governance: Identify, evaluate, and mitigate technical and operational risks associated with OT identity convergence and isolation. Balance operational availability (uptime) with strict cybersecurity controls.

• Regulatory Compliance & Standards: Ensure all architecture designs and deployments adhere to OT security standards (e.g., ISA/IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82, NIS2, NIST CSF) and internal enterprise security architecture guidelines.

• Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary bridge between cross-functional teams, including enterprise IT, OT/plant engineering, site managers, cybersecurity leadership, and third-party implementation vendors.

• Change Management & Enablement: Lead organizational change initiatives required for new identity governance workflows, ensuring minimal disruption to plant operations and high adoption among operational teams.

• Project Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project management collateral, including scope statements, project charters, risk registers, architecture blueprints, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and executive status dashboards.

• Technical Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of IT/OT boundary architecture, Active Directory/Entra ID isolation patterns, jump hosts, secure remote access, and zero-trust principles applied to OT.

  • Familiarity with industrial frameworks and standards, particularly ISA/IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82, and NIS2 compliance requirements.

• Soft Skills & Leadership:

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trust across both corporate IT and plant floor engineering teams.

  • Strong risk mitigation, contract management, and vendor negotiation capabilities.

  • Experience navigating global, multi-cultural enterprise environments and managing organizational change.
