The IT Officer provides day-to-day technical support to employees, assists in troubleshooting IT-related issues, and supports the smooth operation of the company’s systems, devices, and networks. This role focuses on helpdesk functions, user assistance, and maintaining IT infrastructure to ensure stable and efficient operations across the organization.
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in IT support/helpdesk or related technical role.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to IT helpdesk requests and provide first-level and basic second-level troubleshooting for hardware, software, network, and system issues.
- Assist end-users with ERP system queries and ensure correct system usage, settings, and data accuracy.
- Provide user guidance, basic IT training, and support for newly installed systems or tools.
- Maintain clear communication with employees regarding issue status, resolutions, and follow-up actions.
- Assist in the installation, configuration, relocation, and upgrading of desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Support the maintenance of internal servers, PCs, storage devices, and office IT infrastructure under the guidance of senior IT personnel.
- Monitor device performance and ensure timely escalation of critical issues.
- Administer and maintain email user accounts, application access, and basic server-related tasks (e.g., account creation, password resets).
- Keep accurate and updated documentation for all IT assets, including inventory of computers, software, printers, and accessories.
- Prepare basic reports related to IT incidents, usage, and asset updates.
- Assist in liaising with IT vendors for troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking matters.
- Support ERP improvement initiatives and coordinate small-scale corrections or updates as needed.
- Support IT projects, upgrades, and implementations planned by the department.
- Assist in planning and scheduling hardware maintenance, software updates, and system improvements.
- Follow established SOPs for IT processes and contribute to continuous improvement.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), Wi-Fi, and common network troubleshooting methods.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems, Windows Server basics, Active Directory (user creation, group access), and Group Policy fundamentals.
- Basic experience with ERP system usage or administration (training will be provided).
- Ability to troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and common office software.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is an added advantage.
- Basic programming knowledge (PHP, Java, C++) is beneficial but not mandatory.
