IP Portfolio & Patent Support Specialist

Job summary

MKA Group is seeking an IP Executive to support management and administration of the Group's intellectual property and patent portfolio across Automotive, Technology, FMCG and Real Estate divisions.

The role requires collaboration with internal teams and external IP agents to support filings, prosecution, portfolio maintenance and IP-related projects. On-site work in Malaysia is required.

Qualifications

• A degree in Legal is preferred.
• Additional qualification or coursework in Intellectual Property is an advantage.
• Experience in IP for regional countries would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining and updating the Group's patent portfolio and IP records.
• Monitor patent applications, registrations, renewals, deadlines and related correspondence.
• Maintain accurate records of patent applications, grants, ownership, inventors and filing jurisdictions.
• Coordinate with external patent agents and law firms on routine patent matters.
• Assist in preparing periodic reports on patent portfolio status and activities.
• Assist in coordinating the preparation and filing of IP applications.
• Liaise with inventors, R&D teams and external patent agents to obtain information and supporting documents.
• Track examination reports, office actions, deadlines and responses.
• Conduct basic IP and prior-art searches using patent databases.
• Assist with IP landscape and competitor IP research.
