Job summary

Genie Hunt Talent seeks an IoT & AI Engineer to develop intelligent energy solutions for solar PV, ESS/BESS and smart energy infrastructure in Malaysia. You will work on IoT connectivity, edge devices and data pipelines to improve energy reliability and forecasting.

Responsibilities include building end-to-end IoT systems, deploying ML models for forecasting and predictive maintenance, and integrating cloud services with on-site sensors. Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
• Experience with IoT devices, embedded systems, gateways or industrial communication.
• Proficiency in Python with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch).

Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end IoT systems for energy sensors, gateways, meters, inverters and BESS.
• Configure and manage data communication.
• Implement edge processing, device management and remote diagnostics.
• Ensure stable data ingestion pipelines from field sites to cloud servers.
• Build AI/ML models for energy forecasting, anomaly detection and predictive maintenance.
• Process large datasets from solar assets, weather sources and IoT sensors.
• Develop automated data pipelines, ETL processes and model deployment workflows.
• Support real-time analytics and recommendation engines for energy optimisation.

About the job IoT & AI Engineer (Green Tech / Solar)

We are seeking an IoT & AI Engineer to develop intelligent energy solutions for solar PV, ESS/BESS and smart energy infrastructure. You will work on IoT connectivity, edge devices, data engineering and AI models that improve energy reliability, forecasting and predictive maintenance in Malaysia's fast growing RE sector

Key Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end IoT systems for energy sensors, gateways, meters, inverters and BESS

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Data Science or related field
• Experience with IoT devices, embedded systems, gateways or industrial communication
• Proficiency in Python with knowledge of ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Familiarity with cloud IoT services
• Strong understanding of databases, data streaming and API integration.
• Experience in solar PV, BESS, SCADA/EMS or energy systems is a strong advantage
