JurisTech is appointing an Investor Relations Manager to own how the company is understood by investors and the wider capital markets. The role owns the equity story and the materials behind it, runs the calendar of investor meetings, roadshows and events, manages relationships with existing and prospective shareholders and analysts, and supports the company's fundraising objectives.
This is a single-person function to start with. The successful candidate builds it, and works directly with the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer and the rest of senior management rather than through layers.
Scope of the Role
Investor Narrative and Positioning
- Own the equity story: what the business does, how it makes money, what drives growth, and what an investor is underwriting.
- Build and maintain the core material set: investor presentation, fact sheet, financial highlights, investor FAQ, and prepared answers to the questions investors keep returning to.
- Keep the message consistent across management, marketing and corporate communications. One set of numbers, one set of claims, one version of the story.
- Translate financial, product and commercial performance into terms investors can act on, working with Finance, Product and the commercial teams.
Investor Engagement, Events and Roadshows
- Own the investor engagement calendar end to end: one-on-one and group meetings, site visits, investor conferences, roadshows and results or update briefings.
- Plan and run roadshows: target list, scheduling, logistics, materials, briefing packs for management, and follow-up.
- Prepare management for every interaction. Who is in the room, what they manage, what they have asked before, and what they are likely to press on.
- Run the feedback loop. Capture what each investor said, report it to management and the Board, and turn recurring objections into changes to the story or the disclosure.
Investor Targeting and Relationship Management
- Maintain the investor database: coverage, holdings, mandates, investment criteria, contact history and current status.
- Identify and qualify prospective investors against the company's profile and stage, and manage outreach to them.
- Act as the first point of contact for existing shareholders, prospective investors, analysts and intermediaries.
- Track movements in the shareholder base and report them to the Chief Financial Officer.
- Support the company's fundraising objectives: investor materials, data room content, management of the due diligence question flow, and process coordination alongside the Chief Financial Officer and external advisers.
- Maintain the data room and the master set of investor-facing information so that every version in circulation is current and consistent.
- Track the fundraising pipeline and report status, stage and next actions to management.
Disclosure and Market Communications
- Draft investor-facing communications: results commentary, announcements on corporate developments, shareholder letters and website content.
- Apply fair and equal disclosure discipline. Manage what may be said, to whom and when, in consultation with the Chief Financial Officer, Legal and the Company Secretary.
- Maintain the investor relations section of the corporate website.
- Handle or route market and media queries of an investor nature.
Market and Peer Intelligence
- Track listed peers and comparable companies: results, valuation multiples, disclosure practice and investor commentary.
- Brief management on how the market reads the sector and where JurisTech sits within it.
- Feed investor perception into strategy, planning and management reporting.
Coordination with Senior Management and the Board
- Act as the single coordination point between investor relations activity and the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and other senior management.
- Prepare Board-level reporting on investor engagement, shareholder feedback and fundraising pipeline.
- Manage external providers on investor relations work, including financial public relations, research and investor targeting services.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Degree in finance, accounting, economics or business. A professional qualification such as CFA, ACCA, CPA or MIA membership is an advantage.
- At least 6 years in investor relations, equity research, investment banking, corporate finance or fund management, with direct exposure to institutional investors.
- A record of preparing investor materials that were used in live meetings, not only internally: equity story, investor presentation, results commentary and question-and-answer packs.
- Experience running investor meetings, roadshows or conference programmes, including target selection, scheduling and management briefing.
- Financial literacy strong enough to build and interrogate the model behind the story: revenue drivers, margin structure, cash conversion, and the metrics used to measure a recurring or contracted revenue business.
- Working knowledge of disclosure obligations and market communication practice for Malaysian listed companies, including the Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements and the principle of fair and equal disclosure.
- Excellent written and spoken English. Able to write for an institutional investor audience and to hold a room of them.
Preferred Additional Experience
- Enterprise software or other business-to-business sector experience. This is preferred rather than essential, and strong candidates from financial services, technology or other sectors with institutional investor coverage will be considered.
- Sell-side or buy-side equity coverage experience in any sector.
- Involvement in an equity fundraising, private placement or listing exercise, on either the issuer side or the adviser side.
- Experience with a company backed by institutional, private equity or strategic shareholders, and with the reporting those shareholders expect.
- Experience running an investor relations CRM or equivalent platform.
- Exposure to sustainability and non-financial reporting, including how institutional investors assess it.
Skills and Attributes
- Owns the narrative. Holds one consistent story across many audiences and does not let it drift under questioning.
- Credible on both sides. Comfortable in front of a fund manager and equally comfortable in a management meeting.
- Judgement on disclosure. Knows what may be said, and holds the line when an investor pushes for more.
- Organised under pressure. A roadshow week carries no slack, and the preparation has to be done before it starts.
- Accurate. Every number that leaves the company through investor relations has to be right and traceable to its source.
- Self-directed. Able to build the function, set the calendar and run it without supervision.
Reporting Line and Working Relationships
- Reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
- Works directly with the Chief Executive Officer and senior management on investor messaging and meeting preparation.
- Works with Finance on results and metrics, with the Company Secretary and Legal on disclosure, and with Marketing and Corporate Communications on external messaging.
- Manages external investor relations, financial public relations and research providers.
Successful candidates will be required to work at Bangsar South area and may be required to travel as and whenever required.
