Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. in Malaysia is seeking an inventory planner to optimize stock levels, forecast-demand alignment, and coordinate with suppliers for on-time deliveries.

You will lead S&OP reviews, manage replenishment, and collaborate with Sales, Finance, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure business continuity and efficient operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or any related fields.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in material management and supply/inventory planning role, chemical industry is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP MM module and Office software esp MS Excel, experienced in IBP or any demand/supply planning tool is a plus.
  • Good command of spoken and written communication skills in English and local language(s).
  • Self-motivated with high sense of urgency, resourcefulness and adaptability.
  • Ability to coordinate across functions and locations to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Effective time management skills including sequencing of own work and resource time management.
  • Strong analytical and logical thinking, decision making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall inventory to optimum level by reviewing forecast vs historical demand, maintaining efficient stocking strategy and ordering policy.
  • Monitor aging stocks and perform proactive actions to prevent or minimize inventory disposals.
  • Liaise with manufacturers/suppliers to ensure on-time production and deliveries.
  • Lead monthly S&OP reviews to align demand forecasts with supply plans and resolve supply-demand gaps.
  • Manage replenishment through STO/PO execution and coordinating with suppliers to ensure on-time product availability.
  • Optimize inventory levels to achieve inventory, service, and working capital targets.
  • Monitor slow-moving and aging inventory and drive actions to minimize excess and obsolescence.
  • Develop inventory strategies, ordering policies, and replenishment plans within budget.
  • Maintain planning master data and inventory parameters to support accurate planning and execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Finance, Quality, and Supply Chain to address operational issues and ensure business continuity.
  • Manage product shelf-life activities, inventory disposition, and annual stock take processes in compliance with company procedures.
  • Support new product/material introductions, sourcing initiatives, and product labeling requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory performance and supply chain efficiency.

You Will Make an Impact By:
