Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. is seeking a Global Electronics Supplier Manager to partner with Engineering, Procurement, Category Management and Sourcing to develop and refine the electronics supply base strategy. You will report to the Sr.

Manager, PCBA's & Distribution Category and travel up to 25% to meet with suppliers and stakeholders. Ideal candidates have a strong background in electronics category management, contract negotiations, and supplier performance oversight, with a global perspective

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain; master’s preferred.
• 5+ years in Category or Commodity management in Electronics.
• CPIM and/or APICS certification.
• Experience with Oracle and/or SAP procurement and planning modules.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine the electronics category strategy.
• Serve as the single point of contact for engagements with key strategic globally managed electronics suppliers.
• Negotiate lowest total cost of ownership and best price, OTD, lead times, and customer satisfaction.
• Manage master supply agreement construction from templates and conduct contract reviews.
• Oversee supplier performance using scorecards and business reviews.
• Lead dual sourcing, resourcing and new supplier introductions to support business continuity.

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As a Global Electronics Supplier Manager at MKS Inc., you will partner with Engineering, Procurement, Category Management and Sourcing to develop, refine, and update the electronics supply base strategy. In this role, you will report to the Sr. Manager, PCBA's & Distribution Category.

You Will Make an Impact By:

Participate in developing and refining the MKS electronics category strategy. Single point of contact for business engagements with assigned key strategic globally managed electronics suppliers. Improve supply chain efficiency and solve dynamic problems that are important to the success of the company. Draw on experience to successfully negotiate lowest total cost of ownership/best price, OTD, lead times, customer satisfaction, and agility. Manage master supply agreement construction from templates, conduct contract reviews, negotiate, execute, monitor and update agreements. Manage global supplier performance using scorecards, conduct quarterly supplier performance and business reviews. Lead dual sourcing, resourcing and new supplier identification/introduction to achieve MKS’s business continuity strategy. Communicate category strategy, risk mitigation plans and improvement ideas to key stakeholders. Apply oversight and monitor projects associated with assigned key strategic suppliers. Support sourcing activities and new supplier introduction.

Travel Requirements:

Up to 25% travel is required.

Skills You Bring:

Bachelor’s degree preferably in Electrical Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain (a master’s degree is preferred). 5+ years of related experience in Category or Commodity management in Electronics.

Preferred Skills:

CPIM and/or APICS certification. Experience developing supplier and supply chain strategies while concurrently dealing with supplier tactical issues. Expertise in Oracle and/or SAP procurement and planning modules. Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn details of the semiconductor equipment industry. Experience in managing PCBA contract manufacturers and OEM component suppliers.
