Job summary

SGS Malaysia in Klang is seeking a diligent laboratory assistant to support chemists in setting up experiments and updating SOPs, while maintaining strict confidentiality and good laboratory practices.

You will contribute to safety, quality control, and documentation, working as part of a team under supervision, with a focus on learning and dependable performance in a busy testing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Chemistry or Biology or related field from recognized university/college.
• Good personality, independent and a good team player.

Responsibilities

• Assist Chemist or Laboratory Supervisor in carry out laboratory experiments to set-up new methodology as driven by business need or improve current methodology as driven by operational need.
• Review, enhance and update working instruction /Standard Operating Procedure and standard method comparison under supervision of Chemist when needed.
• HSE safety procedures adherence.
• Confidential handling of client information and restricted access to SGS premises.
• Maintain Good Laboratory Practice and Good Housekeeping.
• Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

• Adhere to group HSE safety procedures.
• Ensure that the information from the clients is kept as strictly confidential and never revealed to the third party.
• Ensure all controlled quality procedures, test methods and document are kept confidentially and restricted within SGS premise.
• Ensure Good Housekeeping and Good Laboratory practice in the laboratory.
• Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by his/her superior.
