Internal Audit / Risk Management /ESG Consultant
We are seeking a motivated and analytical Internal Audit / Risk Management / ESG Consultant to support advisory and assurance engagements across various industries. The role involves assessing governance, risk, internal control and sustainability frameworks, identifying improvement opportunities, and providing practical recommendations to help clients strengthen their business processes, manage risks, and achieve their strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with fellow consultants and support team members in advisory and assurance engagements.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify threats and vulnerabilities within clients’ operating environments.
- Recommend risk mitigation strategies and action plans in collaboration with clients.
- Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of governance, risk, and control systems, policies, procedures, and practices.
- Advise clients on strengthening governance, risk, and control systems,
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimisation, providing recommendations to enhance control systems
- Utilise data analytics tools and techniques to identify patterns, anomalies, and emerging risks.
- Collaborate closely with clients to understand business objectives and provide tailored solutions to meet their needs.
- Prepare clear and comprehensive reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders, summarising findings and recommendations.
- Manage multiple engagements simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outputs.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging risks.
- Build strong client relationships by acting as a trusted advisor.
- Uphold the highest ethical standards, maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all engagements.
- Support ESG and sustainability advisory engagements, including sustainability reporting, materiality assessments, stakeholder engagement, ESG gap assessments, and benchmarking against applicable standards and regulatory requirements.Assist clients in developing ESG strategies, policies, procedures, targets, initiatives, and implementation roadmaps to strengthen sustainability performance and regulatory readiness.
- Review and analyse ESG data, disclosures, and supporting documentation to assess completeness, accuracy, consistency, and alignment with recognised sustainability frameworks and reporting expectations.
- Conduct research on ESG trends, climate-related risks, regulatory developments, and industry practices to support client deliverables, proposals, and thought leadership materials.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, Law, Sustainability, Commerce, Economics, or related fields.
- Master’s degree and professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CIA) or sustainability-related certifications (e.g., GRI Certified Professional) will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge or experience in ESG, sustainability reporting, or external assurance is highly preferred. Familiarity with frameworks such as GRI, ISSB, TCFD, or CSRD is an advantage.
- Strong command of written and spoken English with excellent communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently and in a team.
- Able to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Willing to travel locally and overseas; possession of own transport is encouraged.
