Job summary

IBDC (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Internal Audit Consultant - Events to join our team as a full-time professional. The role focuses on internal audit and compliance within the events industry, leading project teams and liaising with Chinese-based clients to ensure integrity and regulatory compliance across event operations.

Key duties include coordinating with clients and staff, planning audits, conducting fieldwork, reviewing working papers, and presenting findings to the Audit

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related discipline.
• CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or ACCA or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of audit experience and/or project management related to events.
• Fluency in English and Chinese.
• Willing to travel and possess own transportation.
• Strong knowledge of audit methodologies, risk assessment frameworks and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Act as central coordinating officer within the project team liaising with client, team members, director and admin department.
• Manage manpower planning and scheduling to ensure delivery of quality services for all events.
• Act as event scrutineer to verify information and documents, attend client's AGM or voting processes.
• Prepare annual audit plan for Audit Committee's approval.
• Prepare and design audit plan and program including risk identification, assessment and procedures.
• Conduct internal audit fieldwork including process walkthroughs and identifying control issues.
• Lead, supervise and review the workpapers of junior staff.
• Prepare and ensure completeness of audit working papers and supporting documents.
• Prepare audit reports with clear findings and recommendations.
• Follow up on implementation of audit recommendations and present to Audit Committee.

We are seeking an experienced Internal Audit Consultant - Events to join our team. This is a full-time position offering a unique opportunity to specialise in internal audit and compliance within the events industry. As an Internal Audit Consultant, you will play a vital role to lead the project team and liaise with Chinese-based clients in ensuring integrity, risk management and regulatory compliance across event operations. This position is strategically important to our company's ongoing project and daily operation of internal audit work.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Acting as the central coordinating officer within the project team to liaise and communicate with client, other team members, director, and administrative department

Manage manpower planning and work scheduling to ensure delivery of quality services for all events

Acting as the event scrutineer to preserve the integrity of the event's results and verify the necessary information and documents, attending client's annual general meeting, or other poll voting process

Discuss with client's management to prepare annual audit plan for Audit Committee's approval

Prepare and design audit plan and program including risk identification, assessment and planned audit procedures.

Conduct internal audit fieldwork which includes business process walkthrough, identifying and defining internal control issues.

Lead, supervise and provide guidance to team of associates and review the workpaper of junior.

Prepare and ensure completeness of audit working papers and supporting documents.

Preparation of audit report with clear cut audit findings and sound recommendations.

Follow-up on implementation of audit recommendation.

Presentation of audit findings to the Audit Committee and Board of Directors

Supporting the Head of Internal Audit with special projects and ad-hoc audit assignments as required

What we are looking for

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline

Professional audit qualification such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), ACCA or equivalent

Required language(s):English, Chinese

Minimum 2 years of audit experience and/or project management related to event

Must possess own transportation and willing to travel

Strong technical knowledge of audit methodologies, risk assessment frameworks and internal controls

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e. PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail

Strong written and verbal understanding and communication abilities

Professional demeanour with strong ethical standards, discipline, punctuality and integrity

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a project team environment
