Responsibilities

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Intern - SOC Analyst L1 to supports the Security Operations Center (SOC) team in monitoring, detecting, and responding to cybersecurity threats across the organization’s IT environment. This role provides hands‑on exposure to security operations by assisting in real‑time monitoring of security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and firewalls, investigating alerts, and supporting incident response activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor Security Systems: Continuously monitor the organization’s security systems (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, etc.) to detect potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Threat Detection and Analysis: Identify and analyze potential security breaches, unauthorized access, malware infections, and other incidents in real‑time.
• Incident Response: Act as a first responder to security incidents, coordinating with relevant teams to contain, mitigate, and resolve issues efficiently.
• Alert Management: Investigate alerts generated by security tools, performing root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions.
• Security Reporting: Document incidents, develop incident reports, and track performance metrics to ensure a proactive defense posture.
• Vulnerability Assessment: Assist in identifying vulnerabilities in IT assets and applications by regularly scanning and reviewing systems.
• Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams such as IT, engineering, and compliance to strengthen overall security measures. Security Awareness: Assist in training employees on security best practices and keeping them updated with new threats and preventive measures.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), and internal policies regarding security and data privacy.
• Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify areas for improvement in monitoring, incident response procedures, and security tools.
• To assist any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time by the company.

Required Skills And Qualifications
