Job summary

Hong Leong Bank is seeking a Procurement Intern to join our procurement team in Malaysia. The successful candidate will gain hands-on exposure to sourcing, purchasing, and contract activities while reporting to the Procurement Manager.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business/Management or supply-chain, with strong English and Malay language skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Familiarity with Oracle is a bonus; internship duration is around six months.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Administration/Management, or a relevant supply‑chain qualification.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the execution of the sourcing process, including market research, identifying potential suppliers, and preparing comparison documentation.
• Support the management of various corporate service contracts by assisting with documentation, filing, and performance monitoring tasks.
• Contribute to cost-saving initiatives by analyzing basic corporate service spending data and identifying initial areas for optimization.
• Help maintain supplier records and act as a point of contact for routine supplier inquiries to ensure timely service and information flow.
• Execute daily administrative procurement tasks, such as processing purchase requisitions and orders, and providing logistical support for larger team projects.
• Support the assessment of basic risks within the procurement and supply chain process through data compilation and verification.

Overview

We are seeking Procurement Intern to join our procurement team. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Experience & Requirements

• 6 months internship duration is preferred.
• Experience through academic projects or part‑time work is a plus.
• A strong interest in procurement, supply chain, and business operations is essential.
• Familiarity with concepts of sustainability, green procurement, or e‑procurement systems (like Oracle) is a bonus.
• Working proficiency in English and Malay (written/spoken) and competent in Microsoft Office applications (Word & Excel).
