Job summary

HOMA ENGINEERING (M) SDN BHD is seeking a talented Interior Designer to join its Kuala Lumpur team on a full-time basis. You will conceptualise, design, and deliver interior solutions for commercial and residential projects, collaborating with architects, engineers, and clients to turn spaces into inspiring environments.

The role requires 2–3 years of experience, proficiency in AutoCAD/SketchUp/Adobe Creative Suite, and strong presentation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
• 2–3 years of interior design experience in a professional setting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D visualization tools.
• Strong understanding of spatial planning, color theory, materials, lighting, and interior design principles.
• Excellent sketching and presentation abilities; effective client communication.
• Knowledge of Malaysian building codes and standards.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams.
• Professional certification or membership in relevant bodies is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop interior design concepts and spatial layouts aligned with client briefs.
• Produce detailed drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Present design proposals and iterate based on client feedback.
• Conduct site surveys and analyze spaces to inform design decisions.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors for project coordination.
• Source materials, finishes, furniture, and fixtures meeting design intent.
• Manage timelines and budgets while maintaining design quality.
• Create mood boards, 3D visualisations, and client presentation materials.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and accessibility.
• Maintain project documentation and contribute to design standards.
• Communicate effectively in Mandarin, Malay, and English.
