Job summary

Talent Recruit represents an established interior design and fit-out firm seeking a mature Head of Design Studio to lead corporate office projects. Based in Damansara, Kuala Lumpur, this role combines creative leadership with hands-on design direction.

You will mentor a design team of eight designers, translate client briefs into innovative solutions, oversee proposals, ensure feasibility within budgets, and collaborate with project teams to deliver on schedule.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum 8–10 years of experience in interior design, with at least 5 years in a corporate design studio environment.
• Proven leadership in managing and mentoring design teams.
• Excellent space planning, creative design, and presentation skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work within tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 68 designers (including senior-level team members)
• Drive creative direction and concept development for all design proposals
• Present design concepts to clients and internal stakeholders
• Translate client briefs into practical, innovative, and branded design solutions
• Supervise all design presentations and ensure high-quality output
• Collaborate with Project, QS, and Key Account teams to ensure design feasibility, cost control, and timely delivery
• Ensure all proposals align with budget, timeline, and client expectations
• Conduct market research to stay ahead of design trends and technologies
• Report directly to the CEO and manage day-to-day studio operations
