Job summary

Kintec Global Recruitment seeks an Installation Manager for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to lead offshore installation projects within energy engineering and construction. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, vessels and contractor interfaces, ensuring safe, compliant delivery from planning to handover.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification with substantial offshore construction and installation experience.
• Typically 8+ years of relevant experience, including leadership of complex interfaces or work scopes.
• Experience in offshore energy, EPC/EPCIC, transportation and installation, fabrication or marine construction environments is strongly preferred where relevant to the role.
• Strong written and spoken English; ability to work effectively in a multicultural, multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, efficient execution of offshore installation activities in accordance with approved engineering and marine procedures.
• Coordinate vessels, equipment, personnel, interfaces and readiness reviews before and during offshore campaigns.
• Drive resolution of operational and technical issues while protecting schedule, quality and HSE requirements.
• Ensure installation records, lessons learned and close-out documentation are completed to the required standard.
• Hold overall responsibility for installation planning and execution across assigned offshore work scopes.
• Lead campaign readiness, vessel and subcontractor interfaces, operational risk management and senior execution reporting.
• Apply document control, change management and approval requirements and maintain records suitable for audit and handover.
• Work in accordance with applicable HSE, quality, ethics and compliance requirements, escalating concerns promptly.

Role Purpose

The Installation Manager will lead and coordinate the safe, controlled and efficient delivery of complex energy engineering and construction activities from a Kuala Lumpur base, working across multidisciplinary office, fabrication, marine and field interfaces as required. The role carries accountability for reliable execution within its discipline, timely coordination with stakeholders, and maintenance of clear, auditable records.

Key Responsibilities

Additional Requirements

• Based in Kuala Lumpur with flexibility to travel to yards, ports, vessels, offshore locations or supplier premises when the assignment requires.
• Able to work to project deadlines and, where operationally necessary, support extended hours, mobilisation windows or offshore rotations.
• Any offshore medical, safety training, professional certification or competency requirement will depend on the final work scope and mobilisation location.
