Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an Inspector of Works (Mechanical - Electrical) to carry out M&E inspections, advise on quality control, and prepare progress reports on site activities.

The role requires a Diploma/Cert or above, 3+ years' experience, and registration as Inspector of Works (IOW). Based at Telok Panglima Garang with independent-working capability and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Cert from Technical Institution or above.
• At least 3 years working experience in related field.
• Registered as Inspector of Works (IOW).
• Willing to be based at Telok Panglima Garang.
• Initiative and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, negotiation and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out M&E inspections to ensure compliance with contract specs and drawings.
• Assist, instruct and advise contractors on site regarding quality control.
• Prepare reports on progress, site activities and related matters.
• Supervise and monitor construction works per contract and drawings (M&E).
• Ensure materials delivered meet approved specs and ITP.
• Identify remedial/outstanding works and ensure timely completion by contractors.
• Regularly report progress and issues to superiors on defects or delays.
• Maintain all forms, documents, correspondences and records of progress.
• Attend site and technical meetings as directed.
• Implement policies and procedures per the Company’s QMS; perform other duties as assigned.

Inspector of Works (Mechanical - Electrical)

• To carry out M&E inspections to ensure compliance with the contact specification and drawings, current legislation and standard policy.
• To assist, instruct and advise contactors on site, on matters related to quality control.
• To prepare reports on progress, site activities and all other related matters.
• To be responsible for the supervision and monitoring of construction works in accordance with the contract and construction drawings especially in respect M&E specifications, quality and time of completion.
• To ensure that all materials delivered to site are conform to the approved specifications and the project’s inspection test plan.
• To identify all remedial/outstanding works to be carried out and to ensure that those works are carried out by the contactors within the time stipulated in the contracts.
• To regularly report to relevant superiors on the progress of the works and the problem areas encountered especially in respect of defective, outstanding or non-conforming works or delayed works.
• To keep all relevant forms, documents, correspondences and records in respect of the progress of works such as daily work record with encompasses labour force, machinery and weather records.
• To attend all site meetings and technical meetings as directed and when necessary.
• To implement any and all relevant policies, procedures and work constructions as so defined in the Company’s Quality Management System
• Any and all other duties as and when assigned from time to time by the superior/management

Job Requirement:

• Diploma/Cert from Technical Institution or above
• At least 3 years working experience in related field

• Preferably with experiences in supervising high rise residential product or similar projects
• Registered as Inspector of Works (IOW)
