Job summary

CARSOME Sdn Bhd is seeking a vehicle inspector to ensure that each car meets regulatory and quality standards at our inspection centre in Ipoh, Malaysia. You will report to the Retail Manager and perform daily vehicle examinations alongside customer service tasks.

The role involves assessing vehicle conditions, documenting findings, taking digital photos, and using software to submit reports while ensuring timely follow-up with customers.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of related work experience.
• Engineering or logistics qualification is required.
• Prefer Junior Executives in Mechanical/Automotive engineering.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle condition assessments (interior/exterior/odometer).
• Note damages or repairs to frame, paint, engine, or systems.
• Document overall vehicle condition and prepare reports.
• Take and upload digital photos during inspections.
• Move and position vehicles as directed; start as needed.
• Use software to submit condition reports and follow up with customers.
• Provide prompt, courteous service; perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

You will be responsible for ensuring a car or other motor vehicle meets all industry regulations. You will be reporting to Retail Manager based in the Retail Centre, where you will be expected to perform daily tasks of vehicle examinations and customer service.

Your Day-to-Day

Conduct assessment of vehicle condition (interior, exterior, odometer reading, trunk area, engine compartment).

Note damage, or repair to frame, paint, engine, AC/heater operation, radio, navigation system, tires, etc.

Provide accurate and complete documentation of overall vehicle condition; providing reports based on findings.

Take and upload digital photos during the inspection process.

Required to locate, start and move vehicles as directed.

Utilize computer/app software to submit condition reports.

Provide prompt and courteous service.

Follow-up with customers after car inspection.

Other duties as assigned.

Your Know How

Candidates must possess at least a Professional Certificate, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical), Engineering (Others), Logistic/Transportation or equivalent.

At least 1 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.

Preferably Junior Executives specializing in Engineering - Mechanical/Automotive or equivalent.
