Job summary

Samtec Inc. is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician in Penang to coordinate preventive maintenance with production and minimize downtime, aiming for 90% on-time delivery.

You will support engineering on equipment upgrades, perform light machining and basic electrical repairs, and manage tooling and parts inventory. The role requires 3–5 years in a technical/manufacturing environment, with vision 20/40, and the ability to read blueprints and PLCs.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in a technical or manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read product blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Experience with PLCs, sensors, and basic automation is a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate PM tasks with manufacturing to minimize downtime and maintain 90%+ on-time delivery.
• Support maintenance or engineering on equipment upgrade projects.
• Perform light machining and basic electrical repairs as needed.
• Assemble, debug, and maintain tooling; troubleshoot tooling issues.
• Order and manage purchased tooling and replacement tools.
