Job summary

Lam Research in Malaysia is seeking an Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer to join the Global Operations Group. You will help design and optimize production processes, coordinate with internal and external teams, and contribute to improving line efficiency and productivity.

The role involves capacity planning, workflow optimization, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve key performance indicators in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD with related experience as described in the ad.
• Strong Office and CAD capabilities are advantageous.
• Proven track record in capacity planning and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Capacity planning and long/medium term resource planning.
• Lead line balancing and optimization for line efficiency.
• Perform gaps analysis between actual and theoretical performance; close gaps.
• Drive productivity improvements and reduce labor hour/cycle time.
• Coordinate in-tool relocation and re-layout activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet Ops KPIs.
• Perform time study data collection and analysis for Lean improvements.

The impact you’ll make

Creates and develops design concepts and specifications that optimize the function, ergonomics, perceived value and appearance of physical hardware products and systems for product consumers and end users. Partners with internal and external marketing and design groups to research and analyze design trends and customer feedback for incorporation into product enhancements, new product design and overall design language and strategy. Produces and validates product design specifications and production requirements with insourced and outsourced manufacturing and engineering groups.

• Lead capacity modeling and long/medium term resource planning based on business outlook


• Perform line balancing and optimization to ensure line efficiency


• Gaps analysis between actual vs theoretical and gap closure


• Productivity Improvement


• Drive on labor hour and cycle time improvement project


• Coordinate in tool relocation & re-layout activities


• Collaborate with CFT team to achieve operations KPI's


• Perform time study data collection and analysis, continuous improvement based on Lean concept

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering/Manufacturing Engineering/Mathmatics/Engineering; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.


• Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and System skills will be an advantage.


• Strong interpersonal and planning skills.


• Strong drive for business improvements.


• Proven track record of ability to perform under minimal supervision.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
