Job summary

STMicroelectronics Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking an Industrial Engineer to establish manufacturing standards, analyze workflow, and optimize capacity across Test and Finishing lines. You will leverage Lean principles and data analytics to drive efficiency and cost reductions, collaborating across functions.

The role emphasizes grounded, hands-on process improvement, SAP/ERP data handling, and cross-department teamwork to sustain high-performing manufacturing operations in a global semiconductor

Qualifications

  • PhD/Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of Industrial Engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of Lean, capacity analysis, and capital investment processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform standard validations, time studies, method studies, and data collection to establish IE standards.
  • Analyze operation sequence, material flow, labor utilization, and cost to improve efficiency.
  • Establish standard capacity for Test and Finishing equipment.
  • Conduct capacity analysis and forecast requirements for CAPEX and equipment allocation.
  • Provide IE support for Tester OEE improvement and cost reduction activities.
  • Apply statistical methods to determine manufacturing processes and capacity requirements.
  • Update and maintain the IE database (IEDB) for capacity planning and process documentation.

YOUR ROLE
  • Perform standard validations, time studies, method studies, and data collection to establish industrial engineering standards and identify productivity improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze operation sequence, material flow, labor utilization, and cost to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Establish standard capacity for Test and Finishing equipment.
  • Conduct mid- to long-term Test and Finishing capacity analysis and forecast requirements for CAPEX and equipment allocation.
  • Provide industrial engineering support for Tester OEE improvement and manufacturing cost reduction activities.
  • Apply statistical methods and mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, capacity requirements, and production standards.
  • Update, review, and maintain the IE database (IEDB) for capacity planning (LCRP), standard costing, cycle time, and process flow chart documentation.
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES
  • PhD, Master’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Industrial Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • More than 2 years of relevant working experience in Industrial Engineering.
  • Knowledge and working experience in Work/Time Study, Capacity Analysis and Planning, Capital Investment Proposal and Execution, and Lean Manufacturing are highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of Lean principles and data analysis techniques.
  • Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with SQL, advanced Microsoft Excel, and Power BI.
  • The role requires strong analytical capability, cross-functional collaboration, and a hands‑on approach to improving manufacturing performance.
