Job summary

Stellantis in Malaysia seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure incoming materials and components meet engineering drawings and quality standards. You will lead inspections, analyze supplier performance, and drive corrective actions to prevent defects from entering production.

With 3–5 years in automotive quality, you will work with cross-functional teams to resolve supplier-related issues, support APQP/PPAP activities, and uphold compliance with QMS and IATF 16949.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial/Quality/Automotive Engineering or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in Incoming Quality, Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance or Manufacturing Quality in automotive manufacturing.
• Experience in supplier quality management and incoming inspection processes.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA and SPC.
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis capability.
• Good analytical skills to interpret quality and supplier performance data.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, especially with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Good attention to detail with a focus on quality, compliance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain incoming inspection plans based on quality risk, supplier performance and customer requirements.
• Ensure incoming materials and components comply with engineering drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Coordinate incoming inspection activities and manage disposition of non-conforming materials.
• Ensure accepted materials are released to production on time while preventing defective parts from entering manufacturing.
• Monitor supplier quality performance, defect trends and inspection results.
• Lead investigations of supplier quality issues using 8D, 5 Why and Fishbone Analysis.
• Coordinate supplier corrective and preventive actions (SCAR/CAPA) and verify effectiveness.
• Review inspection reports, supplier certifications and quality documentation for compliance.
• Support containment activities and proper segregation of non-conforming materials.
• Support APQP and PPAP activities for new parts, suppliers and engineering changes.
• Participate in supplier process audits, production trials, part validation and supplier-readiness activities.
• Analyze incoming defects and supplier performance data and drive actions to reduce defects, scrap and disruptions.
• Work with Purchasing, Logistics, Production, Manufacturing Engineering and Product Engineering to resolve supplier-related quality issues.
• Support internal, customer and external quality audits.
• Ensure compliance with Stellantis QMS, IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and customer-specific requirements.
