Job summary

KPJ Selangor Specialist Hospital is seeking a Data Coder to ensure accurate ICD-10/ICD-11 coding and timely reporting. You will review medical records, discharge summaries, and support MOH submissions.

The role requires 1–2 years coding experience, familiarity with HIMS/HIS, and PDPA knowledge. Collaboration with clinicians and IT will be essential to maintain data quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of coding experience; fresh graduates may be considered.
• Knowledge of PDPA and ICD-10 & ICD-11.
• Familiarity with HIMS/medical records.
• Experience with electronic medical records/hospital information system (HIS).

Responsibilities

• Assist in checking return of medical record folders and ensure movements are documented and tracked.
• Assign ICD and external cause codes and procedure codes for inpatient cases per regulation.
• Ensure accuracy and consistency of ICD coding via audits.
• Review and validate medical records, discharge summaries and related documents.
• Prepare and submit monthly E-Reporting and MOH data within deadlines.
• Liaise with practitioners to clarify incomplete or unclear documentation.
