Job summary

Virtuos Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced HR professional to manage payroll, benefits, expatriate administration, and HR operations. The role focuses on ensuring regulatory compliance, accurate data, and efficient HR processes across the Malaysia branch.

You will contribute to onboarding, employee engagement, and analytics while supporting management with data-driven insights. A strong English communicator with 3–5 years in HR is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, psychology, business, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in multiple HR elements with strong understanding of HR Operations, Payroll, Employee Relations and Performance Management.
  • Proficiency in Oracle HCM preferred but payroll-processing experience in any HRMS is highly valued.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP), Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiar with Malaysian statutory requirements including EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB and Form E.
  • Experience handling expatriate employment matters including work permits and Employment Passes is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of and enthusiasm for the video game industry is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

  • Payroll, compensation & benefits: support monthly payroll by ensuring accurate data, attendance, leaves, and inputs.
  • Coordinate statutory contributions (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB, Form E) and government submissions.
  • Assist in administering insurance, medical benefits and other company benefit programmes.
  • Liaise with payroll vendors and internal stakeholders for timely payroll processing.
  • HR Operations & Administration: manage day-to-day HR operations and ensure compliance with policies and local labour laws.
  • Manage HR documentation, employee records and HR databases.
  • Prepare HR-related letters and memos, including notices and disciplinary letters.
  • Develop, review and implement HR policies, SOPs and best practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee files and HR documentation.
  • Expatriate management: Employment Pass applications, renewals, visa processing, dependent passes, cancellations, etc.
  • Liaise with government agencies and external vendors for timely processing.
  • Provide onboarding support for expatriate employees and relocation needs.
  • HR Analytics & Reporting: generate and present HR reports and dashboards on headcount, turnover, recruitment, absenteeism, performance, engagement.
  • Provide data-driven insights to management for decisions.
  • Monitor HR KPIs and identify process improvements.
  • Onboarding: develop and enhance onboarding programs for new hires.
  • Coordinate orientation sessions and provide resources for smooth onboarding.
  • Employee Engagement: design initiatives, conduct surveys and gather feedback to improve experience.
  • Organize events and activities to promote morale.
  • Employer Branding Support: assist talent acquisition with branding efforts.
  • Ad hoc HR responsibilities and cross-functional projects as required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure employee files and HR documentation are maintained accurately and confidentially.
  • Expatriate Management: Support all expatriate-related HR matters including Employment Pass applications, renewals, visa processing, dependent passes, cancellations, and related documentation.
  • Liaise with government agencies and external vendors to ensure timely processing and compliance.
  • Provide onboarding support for expatriate employees and their relocation requirements.
  • HR Analytics & Reporting: Generate, analyze, and present HR reports and dashboards on key HR metrics including headcount, turnover, recruitment, absenteeism, performance, and engagement.
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to management to support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor HR KPIs and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Onboarding: Develop and enhance onboarding programs for seamless integration of new hires into the company culture and operations.
  • Coordinate orientation sessions and provide necessary resources for a smooth onboarding experience.
  • Employee Engagement: Design and implement engagement initiatives, conduct surveys, and gather feedback to enhance the overall employee experience.
  • Organize events, activities, and recognition programs to promote a positive work environment and employee morale.
  • Employer Branding Support: Collaborate with talent acquisition to support employer branding efforts by highlighting the company's culture, values, and unique offerings.
  • Ad Hoc HR Responsibilities: Take ownership of additional HR tasks and projects as required, which may fall outside of typical duties. These responsibilities may include assisting with special HR initiatives, providing support for urgent or unforeseen matters, and contributing to cross‑functional projects as needed. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to address the dynamic needs of the business and HR team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, psychology, business, or related field.
  • Working knowledge with an experience of at least 3 – 5 Years in multiple human resources elements with strong understanding in HR Operations, Payroll, Employee Relations and Performance Management.
  • Proficiency in Oracle HCM preferred but we strongly prioritise candidates with payroll‑processing experience in any HRMS platform.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP), Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiar with Malaysian statutory requirements including EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB and Form E.
