Job summary

UEM Edgenta Berhad is seeking an HSSE Specialist to lead and monitor the implementation of safety programmes across the organisation in Kuala Lumpur. You will manage contractor HSSE compliance, drive improvements and support OHMS initiatives to enhance health and safety performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant safety or health-related field.
• 1–3 years of HSSE or safety programme experience.
• Knowledge of OSH legislation and HSE management systems.
• Experience with safety culture and Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS) initiatives.
• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or ISO 45001 lead auditor are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor HSSE programmes and policies across the organisation.
• Monitor contractor HSSE compliance and drive corrective actions.
• Develop and implement Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS) initiatives.
• Coordinate HSSEQ training and competency assessments.
• Lead health and wellbeing programmes including mental health.
• Coordinate health promotion and NCD prevention programmes.
• Support OHMS implementation and health risk assessments.
• Coordinate medical emergency preparedness and first aid readiness.
• Analyse HSSE performance data and trends for improvement.
• Provide HSSE subject matter expertise to governance and compliance.
