Job summary

UEM Edgenta Berhad in Malaysia is seeking a safety, health, and environment professional to lead HSE reporting and compliance across project packages.

You will consolidate monthly performance, conduct audits, investigations, and reviews, coordinating with contractors and site personnel to improve safety outcomes and ensure regulatory adherence.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 1–3 years of HSE experience, with strong analytical, reporting and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in OSH, environmental-related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant HSE management experience.
• Knowledge of HSE audits, incident investigation, risk assessment, and contractor safety management.
• Familiarity with HSE management systems, ISO standards, and safety regulations.
• Strong analytical, reporting, communication, and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Consolidate and prepare monthly HSE performance reports, analysing key indicators and trends to drive continuous safety improvement across project packages.
• Conduct HSE compliance audits, site inspections and management walkabouts, identifying gaps and recommending corrective actions to ensure compliance with safety standards and project requirements.
• Support incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action monitoring to prevent recurrence and strengthen workplace safety.
• Monitor contractor HSE performance, review contractual HSE submissions and provide recommendations to ensure compliance with project HSE requirements.
• Analyse safety observation reports and leading and lagging indicators to identify risks, trends and opportunities for proactive intervention.
• Coordinate HSE management reviews, safety briefings and onboarding for contractors and newly appointed site safety personnel.
• Organise Safety and Health Committee meetings, emergency response drills and HSE engagement initiatives to promote a strong safety culture.
• Coordinate Integrated Management System (IMS) and SIRIM audits, ensuring audit findings are addressed and corrective actions are completed within agreed timelines.
• Prepare HSE reports and management presentations, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making and improve project safety performance.
• Support the HSE management team in coordinating HSE communications, regulatory and procedural compliance, and other operational safety initiatives.
