Job summary

Mentis Group in Malaysia seeks an experienced Industrial Relations/Employee Relations professional to lead disciplinary processes and DI proceedings.

You will advise management, ensure compliance with Employment and Industrial Relations Acts, review policies, manage exit and probation, and maintain confidential records with rigor and integrity. The role requires strong drafting and negotiation skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, and hands-on experience in manufacturing settings.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Industrial Relations / Employee Relations (manufacturing environment preferred).
  • Excellent drafting, communication, and negotiation skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Knowledge of Malaysian labour and employment laws.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end disciplinary processes including misconduct investigations, show-cause letters, warnings, suspension and termination.
  • Act as Domestic Inquiry Prosecutor, handling charge framing, evidence preparation, and DI proceedings.
  • Handle employee grievances, counselling, and disciplinary actions.
  • Advise management on disciplinary actions, IR risks, compliance, and legal outcomes.
  • Ensure full compliance with Malaysian Employment Act, Industrial Relations Act, and relevant labour laws.
  • Review and propose IR/ER policies, SOPs, procedures, and documentation.
  • Promote positive employee relations, engagement initiatives, and a healthy workplace culture.
  • Manage HR communications related to employee relations and policies.
  • Probation monitoring and employment confirmation for new hires.
  • Manage employee exit procedures and offboarding processes.
  • Handle SOCSO claim procedures.
  • Responsible for expatriate visa and work permit applications.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential employee records, IR case files, and documentation.

  • Strong hands‑on experience with disciplinary actions and Domestic Inquiries.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Malaysian labour and employment laws.
  • Excellent drafting, communication, and negotiation skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Mature, firm, analytical, and highly confidential in handling sensitive matters.
  • Strong organizational, judgment, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes.
Education:
  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law, or related field.
