Job summary

voco Kuching seeks a Director of Finance & Business Support to oversee hotel financial operations and safeguard assets. You will report on the hotel's financial state, and advise on profitability improvements while acting as the primary contact for accounting issues with GM, owners, auditors, and regulators.

You will lead daily finance activities, oversee budgeting, ensure compliance, and manage contracts and licenses. Strong leadership and USALI knowledge are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance required.
• 4–8 years in hotel accounting or audit with supervisory experience.
• Professional accounting knowledge (USALI) or finance designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct hotel financial operations and protect hotel assets.
• Plan and assign work to ensure adequate staffing levels.
• Coach and develop the team with performance goals.
• Ensure compliant accounting practices per policy and standards.
• Maintain ethical financial control procedures and systems.
• Manage hotel contracts (vendor leases and service contracts).
• Maintain insurance and licenses per regulations (HMA/local).
• Use financial analysis and market data to anticipate needs and improve profitability.
• Prepare annual operating budget and support cost-saving opportunities.
• Reconcile all accounts monthly and oversee credit extensions/collections.
