Job summary

Hospital Picaso is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to support operating theatre activities, including cleaning and preparing the OR after procedures, moving patients, and ensuring sterile supply readiness.

You'll help with waste disposal, infection control, and equipment organization, and assist in documenting transfers and maintaining OT environmental conditions. Priorities include protocol adherence and teamwork in a busy surgical unit.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cleaning and preparing the operating theatre after surgical procedures.
• Ensure proper disposal of waste and adherence to infection control protocols.
• Help position patients correctly before surgery as directed by the surgical team.
• Assist in transferring patients to and from the operating theatre (pre-op and post-op).
• Tidy and organize equipment in the equipment bay after use.
• Assist in picking up surgical supplies and stock from the store room as needed.
• Ensure instruments and consumables are well-stocked and readily available.
• Deliver and collect documents to/from different departments.
• Assist in sending and receiving patients before and after surgery.
• Record and monitor OT temperature and humidity levels as per protocol.
• Report any abnormalities and assist in corrective actions.

Job description

Deliver and collect documents (e.g., patient’s charging bill, patient’s specimen for examination etc.) to/from different departments.

Assist in sending and receiving patients before and after surgery.

Record and monitor OT temperature and humidity levels as per protocol.

Report any abnormalities and assist in corrective actions.
