Job summary

Advanced Defence Systems – Gemas, Negeri Sembilan is seeking an experienced Health and Safety professional to establish safe working practices and oversee risk assessments, audits, and compliance with regulations. You will administer the Health and Safety service, coordinate safety meetings, and deliver training.

The role requires a Diploma or Bachelor in a related field with at least 3 years in OSH management, and registration as Site Safety Supervisor (Yellow Book) with DOSH.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor Degree in any related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in OSH management.
• Priority to candidates with a Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health.
• Must be registered as Site Safety Supervisor (Yellow Book) with DOSH.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
• Excellent knowledge of local SHE legislation and SHE management requirements.
• Good SHE technical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Establish safe working practices with documented risk assessments and controls.
• Keep up-to-date with health and safety legislation; advise management on implications.
• Carry out planned OSH audits and site inspections and ad-hoc visits for compliance.
• Manage general administration of Health and Safety services.
• Maintain and update first aid arrangements and training as needed.
• Coordinate Depot Health and Safety Committee and Safety Advisory Group meetings.
• Provide training and guidance on health and safety responsibilities, induction and awareness.
• Investigate incidents and recommend preventive actions.
• Coordinate health surveillance and screening programmes.
• Assist in emergency planning and input during emergencies.
• Perform other related duties as required by line manager or Head of Departments.

Job scope

• To establish safe working practices, ensuring all risk assessments and effective risk control measures are documented properly
• To maintain up to date current and new legislative requirements, relating to health and safety issues, in order advise management on the implications
• Undertake planned health and safety audits and workplace inspections as well as ad-hoc site visits and inspections for compliance with regulations and procedure
• To ensure general administration of the Health and Safety service is carried out in an accurate and timely manner
• To maintain, review and revise first aid arrangements, organizing appropriate training as necessary
• To coordinate Depot Health and Safety Committee meetings and Safety Advisory Group meetings that meets to requirement and contract needs
• To provide support, advise and facilitate training on employer’s and employees’ health and safety responsibilities, including induction, assorted Health and Safety awareness training and safety organise
• Carry out investigations of all incidents and recommend measures to prevent recurrence
• Coordinate and administer programmed for Health Surveillance and Screening
• Provide a direct input in the event of an emergency. Assist and administer the Emergency Planning function
• Carry out any other duties that are within the scope and grading of the post which could also be requested by the line manager/superior or Head of Depatments

What we're looking for

• Min Diploma or Bachelor Degree in any related field
• Minimum with 3 years of experience in handling OSH Management System
• Priority to whom possess a Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health
• MUST registered as Site Safety Supervisor (Valid Yellow Book Holder) with DOSH

• Excellent knowledge of local SHE legislation and SHE Management System requirements
