Job summary

EDOTCO Group Sdn Bhd is seeking a Senior Sustainability Manager to lead cross-functional sustainability initiatives across the Group. You will steer ESG integration, compliance with global frameworks, and the Group's Environmental Management System implementation.

The role emphasizes leadership, stakeholder engagement, and strategic reporting to the Board and SteerCo, with responsibilities spanning policy development and cross-country coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, law, engineering or equivalent (advantage).
• 5+ years in sustainability management; plus 10+ years other relevant experience.
• Experience in the telco sector is an advantage.
• Strong ESG integration, reporting, and data collection understanding.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; stakeholder interfacing skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive sustainability strategy across the EDOTCO Group and Pillars.
• Lead compliance with global sustainability frameworks and reporting requirements.
• Oversee development and publication of Sustainability and Integrated Reports.

About the job

Sustainability factors increasingly drive the agenda, both in business, in society, and across EDOTCO Group. This requires a strategic approach to ensure we fully integrate sustainability into EDOTCO’s culture and activities as a regional infrastructure tower company.

In addition, EDOTCO is adopting Integrated Reporting to improve its sustainability disclosures to its stakeholders. This role will be the overall manager and coordination point for this cross-functional project, working with stakeholders from across EDOTCO Group. As a member of UN Global Compact, we are driving improvements in sustainability related areas diligently.

Sustainability

• Provide Group direction and lead all sustainability matters for EDOTCO Group.
• Develop a cohesive sustainability strategy across EDOTCO Group and ensure the execution and continuous improvement of all such initiatives.
• Ensure Senior Management, ESG SteerCo and Board remain informed of sustainability matters, best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance and alignment to adopted global sustainability-related frameworks, indices, listing requirements and other such requirements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead and oversee the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the Group Environmental Management System (EMS) in accordance with ISO 14001 requirements, including governance integration, compliance oversight, performance monitoring, and coordination across functions to ensure effective environmental management.

Key Accountabilities

Strategy Development

• Drive sustainability strategy across the Group and across all Pillars.
• Ensure the integration of ESG considerations into the business and collaborate with business departments and NTCs to achieve sustainability targets aligned to the SDGs.
• Drives the strategy for all ESG pillars including relevant monitoring to overall Group target as well as oversees relevant implementation.

Compliance and Reporting

• Ensure compliance and alignment to relevant/adopted global sustainability frameworks, best practices, listing requirement and any other such requirements.
• Keep abreast of new requirements and provide advice on its adoption.
• Lead the development and publication of the Group’s Sustainability Report and Integrated Report.
• Produces annual Sustainability Report for the Group.
• Secretariat for the quarterly SteerCo.
• Provide updates and bring matters on sustainability to Management and Board as and when required.
• Develop and monitor implementation of sustainable organizational policies that address sustainability concerns, across operating countries.

Stakeholder Management

• Main liaison with Axiata to ensure alignment of sustainability strategies and initiatives.
• Drive awareness and capacity-building on sustainability and integrated reporting matters across the Group.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualification, Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, law, engineering, or equivalent will have an added advantage.
• At least 5 years of experience in sustainability management. Another minimum 10 years of other relevant working experience.
• Experience in the telco industry will be an added advantage.
• Passion for identifying and driving sustainability-led business opportunities.
• Strong understanding of principles of ESG integration, ESG risk management, sustainable insurance solutions, sustainability reporting, and data collection.
• Experience in team leadership and project management.
• Keep abreast of current and upcoming developments and market trends regarding sustainability, climate, decarbonisation, corporate disclosure, reporting frameworks and social impact.
• Excellent verbal, written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills to interface and influence all levels of stakeholders (internal/external).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, such as MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Teams, and MS Word.
