Job summary

Labuan Reinsurance (L) Ltd - Official Page is seeking an actuary to support pricing activities in the Underwriting Pricing division. The role involves pricing new products, reviewing pricing proposals, and assisting with ad‑hoc pricing of contracts under Facultative and Treaty lines.

You will also handle MFRS17 modelling tasks, assist in training underwriters on technical pricing concepts, and oversee daily operations to maintain efficient pricing processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, preferably at Associate or Fellow level.
• Relevant experience in General Insurance is advantageous.
• Classification ratemaking and pricing of facultative and treaty contracts.
• ETL (extract, transform, load) experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist the underwriter in new product pricing.
• Assist the underwriter in pricing reviews.
• Review pricing proposals by the Actuarial Analyst.
• Provide training to underwriters in technical pricing concepts.
• Perform measurement and modelling of reinsurance portfolios (MFRS17).
• Manage daily operations and supervise staff to ensure efficient processes.

Job description

The role is to help the company in performing actuarial analyses in the Underwriting Pricing division, drive and maintain Facultative and Treaty Pricing tools including ad-hoc pricing of contracts

Facultative

• Assist the underwriter in new product pricing
• Assist the underwriter in pricing reviews
• Review the pricing proposal by the Actuarial Analyst
• Provide training to the underwriters in technical pricing concepts

Product Management

• Proficient in the various class of business that the Company underwrites

MFRS17 (Ad hoc)

• Perform the measurement and modelling of the reinsurance portfolios and group of reinsurance contracts

People Management

• Manage daily operations by supervising subordinate’s day-to-day activities to ensure that processes are managed and delivered effectively and efficiently.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, preferably an Associate or Fellow
• Relevant experience in the General Insurance industry is advantageous

• Excess, deductible, and individual risk rating
