An educational institution in Malaysia is seeking a Head of Finance to oversee all financial management activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, and strong leadership skills. You will be responsible for preparing financial reports, managing corporate tax computations, and enhancing operational efficiency through strategic financial insights.
Oversee all financial management activities, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring, and financial reporting.
Prepare and analyze monthly management reports, quarterly and annual consolidation, and audited accounts in compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and the Companies Act.
Strengthen and maintain internal controls, SOPs, and financial policies in alignment with Group requirements.
Review business processes and recommend improvements for operational efficiency.
Prepare financial statements, analyses, and projections for management, the Group, and the Board reporting.
Monitor AR/AP, verify payments, and ensure accuracy of bank reconciliations.
Manage corporate and deferred tax computations and ensure timely submission to relevant authorities.
Liaise with auditors, bankers, tax agents, and regulatory bodies.
Support business planning and provide financial insights, including cost optimization strategies.
Supervise and review work assignments of Account Executives and Account Officers.
Undertake any other tasks assigned by the CEO.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/ACCA/MIA membership is highly preferred).
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and internal controls.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic insights.
Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities.
