Job summary

Celestica, Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a hands-on Design Engineer (Hardware) to own and execute electronics design tasks with limited supervision. You will troubleshoot issues across R&D, manufacturing and field teams, validate networking/storage/server hardware for NPIs and RMAs, and qualify alternative components for cost and performance benefits.

The role requires a BEng (Hons) in Electronics and strong knowledge of PCIe, memory buses and test equipment, with 2–5 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• BEng. (Hons.) in Electronics or similar
• Strong electrical design and debug skills required
• Familiar with PCIe, NVMe, SAS, SATA, I2C, SPI, PMBus, DDR buses
• SDRAM timing and integrity analysis for clocks, strobes, S&H, Power bounce, temp. stability
• High performance RISC / X86 CPUs and architecture including Intel, AMD, MRVL
• Proficient in using various test and measurement equipment including but not limited to Oscilloscope, Impedance analyzer, Power meter, Signal analyzer, Spectrum analyzer
• Working knowledge of windows & Linux configuration, installation procedure, network configuration, driver configuration etc.
• Working knowledge of Orcad Schematics & Allegro PCB layout tools is desirable
• Knowledge in signal integrity test, power integrity test, system integration test, thermal test, reliability test and EMC test is an advantage

Responsibilities

• Identify technical issues, troubleshoot and resolve them by coordinating with R&D, Manufacturing and Field teams
• Hardware validation of Networking, Storage, Server products against customer’s infield issues, product requirements and Mfg. issues during NPI or RMA
• Qualify alternative components for compatibility, cost effectiveness and benchmarking
• Work with Mfg., Test and development teams to troubleshoot, identify root cause of system failure, suggest and validate solutions
