Job summary

Celestica in Penang, Malaysia is seeking a hands-on hardware engineer with 6+ years in Networking/Storage/Server products to lead development and field support. You will troubleshoot, validate hardware, and work across R&D, manufacturing and software teams to resolve issues.

The role requires a strong technical background, ability to work with little supervision, and experience with PCIe, NVMe and related interfaces. Proficiency with test equipment and Linux-based systems is essential.

Qualifications

6+ years experience in Network, Storage or Server products.
At least BEng. (Hons.) in Electronics or similar.
Familiar with PCIe, NVMe, SAS, SATA, I2C, SPI, DDR buses.
Hands-on design knowledge of peripheral chipsets for Gigabit Ethernet, SCSI, SATA, SAS, USB, PCI cards.
System validation experience including DVT, SPIT environmental & regulatory approval.
Experience with diagnosing and debugging hardware issues.
Working knowledge of Windows and Linux configurations and basic driver setup.

Responsibilities

Identify technical issues and coordinate with R&D, Manufacturing and Field teams.
Participate in customer technical meetings and prepare training programs for internal staff.
Hardware validation of Networking, Storage and Server products for NPI or RMA.
System validation including DVT, SPIT environmental & regulatory approval.
Qualify alternative components for compatibility, cost effectiveness and benchmarking.
Support Manufacturing Engineering and Test Engineers on troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Work with software teams to identify root cause of system failure.
Install software such as Linux-based OS, ONIE, BIOS, BMC, SES.
Use test equipment like Oscilloscope, Impedance analyzer, Power meter, Signal analyzer, Spectrum analyzer.
