Job summary

ASIA PACIFIC PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SDN. BHD. is seeking a Halal Executive cum Purchaser in Kuching to ensure Halal compliance across ingredients, materials, and suppliers while handling purchasing operations.

The role includes sourcing, requesting quotations, receiving documentation, maintaining Halal records, and supporting Halal audits. The candidate should have a related degree and strong MS Office skills, with good negotiation and communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Halal-related field and/or procurement/SCM.
• Knowledge of Malaysian Halal requirements and certification procedures is preferred.
• Experience with suppliers, purchasing processes and documentation is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Halal certification documentation and audit requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills; ability to document clearly and keep records.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining and implementing the Halal Assurance System (HAS) and related procedures.
• Ensure all ingredients, raw materials, beverages and additives are Halal-compliant.
• Maintain a Halal-approved ingredient and supplier list.
• Verify Halal certificates, declarations and product specs from suppliers.
• Monitor validity of Halal certificates and renewal documents.
• Review and approve new ingredients, products or suppliers before introduction.
• Maintain records for Halal certification and audits.
• Assist in preparing for Halal audits, inspections and renewals.
• Conduct regular monitoring of Halal practices across kitchens, stores and operations.
• Source and identify suitable suppliers for ingredients, materials, packaging, cleaning materials and equipment.
