Job summary

Setel is seeking an intern to support market research and strategic initiatives across Malaysia. You will analyze industry trends, assess new business opportunities, and track performance on growth projects.

You will collaborate with Finance, Commercial, Marketing, Data, Product and Compliance, gaining exposure to presentations and strategic reviews while learning about digital mobility ecosystems.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or holding a bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Data/Analytics or a related discipline.
• Available to start in September/October 2026 and commit to a minimum 6-month internship.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to structure information and draw meaningful insights.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace, particularly Excel/Sheets and PowerPoint/Slides.
• Strong interest in business strategy, growth, new business models and/or digital businesses.
• Basic understanding of financial modelling or business case development is an advantage.
• Curious, proactive and comfortable working with ambiguity and learning new topics quickly.
• Able to communicate clearly and work effectively with different stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support market research and analysis on industry trends, competitors, customer behaviour and market developments relevant to Setel’s strategy and growth priorities.
• Contribute to evaluating new business opportunities and strategic initiatives, including market sizing, business case development and commercial assessments.
• Track and analyse the performance of ongoing strategic and growth initiatives, identifying key insights, risks and areas for improvement.
• Support the development of presentations, analysis and materials for management discussions and strategic reviews.
• Work with cross-functional teams including Finance, Commercial, Marketing, Data, Product and Compliance to gather insights and support strategic initiatives.
• Participate in discussions with potential partners and key stakeholders where relevant.
• Support other strategic projects and assignments as required.
• Assist with any related tasks, projects, and other assigned duties as and when deemed necessary.
• Ensure adherence to the compliance of company policies, industry regulations and legal requirements.
