Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join a growing Data team in a greenfield environment. This is an exciting opportunity to help build data architecture, scalable pipelines, and governance frameworks that support business intelligence, AI initiatives, analytics, and secure data management.

You will design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines, organise data with ROT analysis, implement storage using Microsoft Azure, Fabric, SharePoint, and related technologies, ensure data

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering with building and supporting data solutions.
• Experience with greenfield implementations, digital transformation, BI, data warehousing, and analytics environments.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft data technologies including Microsoft Fabric and SharePoint.
• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT, data modelling, data warehousing, and scalable data architecture.
• Experience integrating systems through REST APIs/webhooks.
• Experience managing identity using Microsoft Entra ID.
• Understanding of data governance, data lifecycle management, and AI/ML data requirements.
• Knowledge of Dataverse is advantageous.
• Additional Microsoft certifications such as AZ-305, AZ-900, or SC-900 are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to extract data from various business systems.
• Organise and classify data using ROT (Redundant, Obsolete, Trivial) analysis techniques.
• Implement and manage data storage solutions using Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, SharePoint, and related technologies.
• Ensure data integrity, quality, and security across data platforms.
• Build and maintain data models for reporting and analytics.
• Provide clean, structured, and governed datasets for Power BI reporting.
• Support AI and machine learning initiatives by ensuring data is clean, structured, and accessible.
• Develop and enforce data governance policies and best practices.
• Monitor and optimise data workflows for performance and cost efficiency.
