Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a data engineer to build and maintain data pipelines, integrate data from multiple systems, and prepare trusted datasets for analytics, reporting, and AI use cases. You will work with experienced data professionals to ensure reliable data flows and scalable data architectures.

Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or Data Science is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Strong SQL skills and data concepts.
• Basic programming knowledge, preferably Python.
• Understanding of relational databases and data concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and monitor data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from multiple source systems.
• Assist in integrating data from databases, APIs, operational systems, files, and other data sources.
• Build and maintain structured datasets and data models for reporting and analytics.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, and analysis.
• Support the development of ETL/ELT workflows and automated data processing.
• Perform data profiling, validation, reconciliation, and data quality checks.
• Investigate data issues and work with business and technical teams to identify root causes.
• Assist in maintaining data warehouse, data lake, or other data platform environments.
• Develop technical documentation including data mappings, pipeline logic, data dictionaries, and operating procedures.
• Support dashboard, analytics, and data analyst teams by providing reliable and well-structured datasets.
