Job summary

Intel Corporation in Penang, Malaysia seeks graduates and early-career professionals to join the Graduate Talent Program as Software Application Development Engineers. You will design, develop, test, and enhance enterprise apps and data-driven solutions in a cross-functional Agile team.

You will gain hands-on experience across Data Engineering, AI, and modern data platforms while collaborating with global teams and learning emerging technologies, with a hybrid on-site/off-site work model.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/STEM.
• Strong software development fundamentals.
• Knowledge of Data Engineering, ETL/ELT concepts.
• Understanding of Data Warehousing concepts and analytical data structures.
• Familiarity with AI/Generative AI concepts and LLMs.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• - Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related STEM discipline.
• - Good foundation in software engineering and application development.
• - Knowledge of Data Engineering, including data ingestion, transformation, data pipelines, and ETL/ELT concepts.
• - Understanding of Data Warehousing concepts, data modeling, and analytical data structures.
• - Familiarity with AI/Generative AI concepts and Large Language Models (LLMs).
• - Understanding of Vector Databases and vector‑based information retrieval.
• - Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and its use in AI‑enabled applications.
• - Understanding of Agentic AI workflows, including the use of AI agents, tools, and multi‑step workflows.
• - Experience or knowledge of MEAN stack or similar modern web application development technologies.
• - Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• - Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse, global teams.
• - Eagerness to learn, experiment, and adapt in a fast‑paced technology environment.
• - Basic understanding of DevOps practices and IT service management concepts.
• - Open to a minimum one‑year contract‑based role.

Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Skills:

• - Programming experience with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, or similar languages.
• - Exposure to cloud platforms and cloud‑native application development.
• - Experience building data pipelines or working with structured and unstructured datasets.
• - Hands‑on experience with Generative AI, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, or LLM‑based applications.
