Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services Limited in Malaysia (Penang) invites applications for a Supply Chain Engineer on a 1 year contract. The role focuses on component classification, BOM management, and supplier coordination with global partners.

You will work with PDM/PLM tools, perform risk assessments, manage ECR/PCN processes, handle ROHS/REACH compliance, and ensure accurate data across Excel and databases. Diploma graduates with strong communication and analytical skills are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Diploma Graduate in IT/Engineering field.
• Good communication skills and aptitude to learn new technologies.
• Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience performing data entry and maintaining electronic records.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct data inconsistencies.
• Basic analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to follow defined processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Identify and communicate with global component suppliers regarding component classification (IC, Passives, Actives, Memory & Interconnects).
• Understand PDM/PLM tools like SAP and BOM management tools.
• Perform BOM risk assessment and part risk assessment.
• Exposure to ECR (Engineering Change Request) and PCN (Product Change Notification) processes.
• Knowledge of Quotes (RFQ) and sample requests with international suppliers.
• Knowledge of ROHS, REACH, obsolescence management & BOM change orders management.
• Experience working with international suppliers via email/call.
• Identify and approve alternate part replacements for obsolescence.
• Strong communication, problem solving, and analytical skills.
• Computer competency in Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and databases.
