Job summary

PROSHIVZ in Shah Alam seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer to drive quality across the global supplier base from prototype to mass production. You will act as the technical authority ensuring zero-defect standards and collaborate with electronics suppliers to meet reliability targets.

Responsibilities include supplier audits, scorecard management, leading APQP/PPAP for new components, and applying advanced problem-solving such as 8D/A3. Travel up to 50% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years in overall quality engineering.
• 3+ years in electronic component manufacturing (Power Electronics, Telecom, Semiconductors, PCBs, or Electro-Mechanical assemblies).
• Mastery of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, GD&T, and structured problem-solving (8D, A3).
• Trained in ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 auditing, with familiarity in IPC-610/IPC-620.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate supplier potential and existing suppliers through audits and assessments to ensure compliance with standards.
• Monitor supplier metrics (DPPM, OTD) and manage supplier scorecards to drive quality improvements.
• Serve as the technical liaison between suppliers, engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing to ensure quality from design to production.
• Lead APQP and PPAP for new components, verifying supplier process readiness and approving initial samples.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for supplier quality issues using 8D, A3, etc.
• Assess and enhance supplier core competencies and manufacturing processes.
• Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and correction verification.
• Promote Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke, MSA, PFMEA for continuous improvement.
