Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer in Malaysia to evaluate and qualify suppliers, support component qualification, and improve incoming inspection processes. You will collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure quality and compliance in production.

The role requires a technical engineering degree and hands-on experience in regulated environments, with strong analytical and communication skills to drive quality initiatives and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience in supplier quality and quality engineering within a regulated industry.
• Knowledge of supplier qualification processes, incoming inspection systems, and corrective action methodologies.
• Understanding of quality management systems and continuous improvement principles.
• Ability to analyze technical data, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Strong problem-solving skills for routine and moderately complex situations.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management to collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to present and communicate technical information clearly to internal audiences.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and component quality standards.
• Commitment to product quality, compliance, and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and qualify new suppliers by assessing technical, quality, and manufacturing capabilities.
• Provide technical support during introduction and qualification of supplier components.
• Develop, maintain, and improve incoming inspection procedures and train inspectors.
• Source, develop, and validate inspection tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
• Support creation and review of component specifications and quality requirements.
• Prepare test protocols, oversee qualification testing, issue reports, and approve components for production use.
• Partner with design engineering teams on component selection, quality assessments, and reliability analysis.
• Investigate incoming material defects, determine disposition, and implement corrective actions with suppliers.
• Review design specs to ensure manufacturability, quality, and supplier capability.
• Investigate supplier-related field failures and coordinate corrective/preventive actions.
• Maintain compliance with quality system requirements and procedures supporting product quality and patient safety.
